At HoneyBeNatural LLC, your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to ensure that all personal health information (PHI) you share with me is kept secure and private.

What This Means for You:

  • Your therapy records, health information, and all identifying details are protected under federal law.

  • Information you share during counseling sessions is kept confidential and is not disclosed without your written permission, except in cases required by law (such as risk of harm to self or others, abuse, or court order).

  • Secure systems are used to store and transmit any electronic records, intake forms, and communications related to your care.

Your Rights Under HIPAA:

  • You have the right to request copies of your records.

  • You may ask for corrections to be made to your health information.

  • You can request a list of any disclosures made of your health information.

  • You have the right to file a complaint if you believe your privacy rights have been violated.

Digital Communications Notice: While I take steps to ensure all communications are secure, please be aware that email and online contact forms may not be fully secure. For confidential matters, we recommend using our secure client portal or contacting us directly by phone.

  • Access to client records, employee files, and proprietary tools is restricted by role-based permissions.

  • All users are assigned unique logins and are required to use secure passwords.

  • Systems are monitored for unauthorized access and unusual activity.

4. System & Network Security

  • We use encrypted platforms and services for data collection, invoicing, scheduling, and storage (e.g., HIPAA-compliant tools, secure email, encrypted storage).

  • Firewalls and antivirus tools are in place to prevent external threats.

5. Data Retention & Disposal

  • Records are retained in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

  • When no longer needed, data is destroyed using secure deletion practices.

  • Paper records, if any, are stored in locked file cabinets and shredded when disposed.

  • All staff and contractors are trained annually on data privacy, HIPAA, and cybersecurity protocols.

7. Client Rights

  • Clients have the right to access their records, request corrections, or revoke consent for data sharing at any time.

  • All communication through our website or email is encrypted via SSL.

  • Online forms for contact, registration, or consent use secure, HIPAA-compliant platforms.

  • Clients are encouraged to avoid submitting sensitive data through unencrypted channels.

9. Third-Party Tools & Vendors

  • We vet all vendors for HIPAA compliance and data handling practices.

  • Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) are in place when required.
